Tourism is a cultural phenomenon that has become one of the most important industries in the world. Since modern tourists seek genuine contacts with local life, small places can also write successfull tourism stories. In the municipality of Borovnica, cultural and natural heritage interwine, and form an interesting cultural landscape with many potentials fort the development of tourism. The problem is, those potentials are mostly poorly exploited. The author presents Borovnica, its characteristics, sights and the current development of tourism, and highlights both the advantages and disadvantages of the existing tourist offer. Possibilities and ideas for further tourist development of the municipality of Borovnica are also described. The diploma thesis overviews the existing situation of tourist facilities and can serve as a springboard for all further work on tourism in Borovnica.
