Thesis explores poetic creativity of Milan Vincentič, poet of the Prekmurje plains, an exquisite literary genius and a human with a good heart.
Despite versatile nature of his literary opus (which includes novels, children's books, radio plays), primary focus of thesis is on his poetry, with main question being how much is eroticism featured in his poetry. At first, the objective was that Vincetič is primarily a regional poet, whose core value is love for his region, Prekmurje. But deeper analysis of his 15 poetry collections (Kot slutnja radovedno, in co-authorship with his best friend Feri Lainšček, Zanna, Arka, Finska, Divan, Tajmir, Tanin, Balta, Lakmus, Raster, Retuše, Vidke, Stajanke, Pristave, Kalende), rendered this objective false. Poetry collections Tajmir (1993) and Kalende (2016), whose analysis represent the core of this thesis, supplement Vincetič's philosophy of uniqueness of life and love, both rooted deeply into the region of Prekmurje. Vincetič was thus more than just a regional poet. He was also a poet that heavily contributed to Slovene poetry in terms of innovation in form and in style as well as in different view on eroticism.
Thesis portrays life and work of poet Milan Vincentič from his beginnings to his tragic end, positions him within literary history and discusses where in his opus theme of eroticism is present. Core of the thesis is dedicated to analysis of two poetry collections, which represents peak of Vincetič's erotic poetry.
