In the first part of the thesis the concept of space is described. The correlation between space in art
and space in science is briefly shown. The first chapter is followed by landscape theory and the
difference between cultural and natural landscape is described. The brief history of landscape
painting starts in Renaissance and ends in the middle of 19th century when photography is
invented. Then you follow the path which photography took from it's invention to contemporary
examples with emphasis on landscape photography. In first part you get to know global course of
photography later followed by history of Slovenian photography. There are examples which
influenced my artistic practice. In the last part the practical segment is presented. It starts with the
concept, it's development and then ends with author's own thoughts about working through the
project.
