As the alarm system in Cinkarna Celje d.d. became obsolete, it had to be renewed in order to minimize all kinds of threats. A good response to threats is essential and that is why an alarm system has been fully automated and updated with new and more reliable elements.
The following graduate thesis consists of planning an automation of alarm system. First, it was important to examine the state, predominantly junction box and then choose suitable elements. Due to better overview and elimination of potential errors, electrical scheme and automation/automatic scheme had to be drawn according to the EPLAN standards. After examination and approval of plans, programming in TIA Portal had to be done, where programming types, communication PROFINET between controllers and display of system operation/activity on HMI panel were defined.
The result of alarm system update is complete automation and renewal. The main controller, located in fire department of Cinkarna Celje , allows us to choose sirens that should be activated and a way of alarming. The other two controllers allow us to only use manual activation, however only for siren that is connected to that controller. Furthermore, there had been five improvements of alarming added that were enacted in 1995.
