The main focus of the paper is the analysis of legal arrangements and their regulation in the field of health services traineeship. The emphasis of the paper are the internships at the tertiary level of health care services. As this is the most demanding and therefore crucial level for continuous progress and improvement of treatment approaches. For the reparation of the paper were mostly used the descriptive method and the secondary data analysis.
The findings of this paper relate that legal acts in Slovenia regulate the field of internships for healthcare employees in detail. The legal arrangements of the traineeships field do not differentiate traineeships according to the level of health care in which the traineeship is carried out. However, the level of acquired education has an impact on the internship program and the professional exam. Even though the tertiary level is the highest level of health care, performing an internship at this level is quite difficult, as institutions of tertiary level do not accept large number of interns.
Findings of the paper shows that laws and bylaws of the Republic of Slovenia adequately regulates the field of traineeships. As a result, the basic purpose of traineeships, which is training and acquiring knowledge and skills necessary for independent work, it is fulfilled. Traineeships programs also differ according to acquired education and the field of work that a profession usually performs.
