The purpose of this thesis is to research the impacts of mass tourism in municipality of Bled. A key part of the diploma work is in-depth research of the positive and negative changes of the internal workings of the municiplaity, that mass turism had brought about. It will also study the reaction of the municipality and the structural changes it had adopted, in the light of the new situation. The thesis consists of three main parts. The first part studies the statistical macro-picture of turism in the Gorenjska region, as well in the municiplaity of Bled. With the use of cross-examination of other turist populated municipalites, several factors, such as maximum capacity, financial politics and structure of guests can be detrmined. The scond part involves the research of the early mass turist season in the municipality and it’s impact on the development of turist industry, trough nineteenth and tewntieth century. The third part studies the analysis of cocnrete changes brought about, in the municipality, with the arrival of mass turism, in the last five years. Main revelations determine that while the mass turist industry is important, for both municipality of Bled and Slovenia, it requires adequate management policies in order to assure its high quality and allow the development of environmental sustainability.
