The objective of the diploma thesis was to construct a braking system for a Schenck oscillating machine. When the test specimen is broken the broken parts are hitting each other. To stop oscillation of the broken parts of the specimen in a timely manner it was necessary to design a braking system. An overview and rearrangement of existing methods of braking allowed us to compose various braking concepts. These concepts were then evaluated according to the technical and financial criteria. After the concept evaluation phase, the best concept according to our criteria was chosen. For the chosen concept it was required to design a load-bearing structure and compose the entire brake assembly. For the entire assembly and load-bearing structure, a technical documentation was made. For load-bearing structure also the stress-strain analysis was carried out.
