Introduction: Breastfeeding represents natural way of infants feeding. Many organizations and scientific studies are claming, that exclusively breastfeeding age 6 months, and later compementary feeding, enshures optimal development, growth and health of infants. Purpose: In this thesis is to research baby-led introduction of complementary feeding and when and how to start the introduction. Methods: A descriptive method, an online survey, was used. Literature has been searched on online databases DiKul, ScienceDirect, Cobiss, Google books and over internet search browser Google. Results: In research, 110 parents of children from 4 to 12 months, have participated, that have introduced baby-led complementary diet. Results show, that 65% of children were only breastfeed in first four months. Introduction of firm diet has started at the age of 6 months. 31% of parents have fully agreed and 41% of parents have agreed that they have enjoyed in offering of firm food to child. 43% of children have, in parents opinion, enjoyed being offered firm food. Results are divided on three parts that are: demographics results, child feeding, parent knowledge and reasons of introduction of firm diet. Discussion and conclusion: Introduction of baby-led complementary diet on child wish is method that gives bigger freedom to child. Author of the book Baby-led Weaning, Gill Rapley, has stated the same reasons and factors for choosing baby-led weaning as parents in our research. In future it would be nesesary to better educate health workers on baby-led weaning, for better consulting to target population.
