The thesis is a comparison of language consulting in Slovenia and Poland. It focuses on the viewpoints of linguists, which were/are consultants, its history and the two modern internet consultancies. There are some common points in both settings: the emphasis of the patriotic language component, language consultancy development according to the type of medium. The main difference in the two systems is the degree of linguists’ involvement in the matter. Language consulting gives us an insight into the language progression. Web consultancies, which are presently most active, generate publicly accessible compilations of frequent language issues and a digital addition to the normative dictionaries and grammars.
