Naslov:Perioperative nursing care of patient with skin and soft-tissue infection : diploma work
Izvleček:
Introduction: Inflammation of skin and subcutaneous tissues is a result of an microorganism invasion through a damaged part of skin, where damages can be caused by mechanical, chemical or physical agents and lower the self-protection ability of an organism. They are shown with classical and systematic signs and symptoms of an inflammation. Infections of skin and subcutaneous tissues are treated conservatively, with operations, or with a combination of both. Purpose: the aim of this diploma work was to define the role of a hospital nurse in a perioperative nursing care with patients with skin and tissue inflammation. Methods: descriptive method of work was used. A narrative review of scientific and professional, home and foreign literature was carried out. The search was carried out in data bases such as CINAHL, MEDLINE, PubMED and in the COBIS system; furthermore a manual search of conference proceedings, published by Clinical department for surgical infections and Wound Management Association of Slovenia was also carried out. Results: analysis has shown, that the work of a ambulatory or hospital nurse caring for patients with a skin and subcutaneous tissues inflammation shows no difference in the work process itself. The main stress in a hospital treatment is given to patient preparation for a surgical treatment in a general anaesthesia. Discussion and conclusion: the role of a registered nurse in perioperative nursing care with patients with skin and subcutaneous tissues inflammation has shown as key, especially when preparing a patient for a surgical treatment, and also key when proceeding more complex cases.
