The master's thesis deals with forming and translating neologisms in Stanisław Lem's Cyberiad, and it's translations into Czech and Slovenian. The book was translated into Czech by František Jungwirh, and into Slovenian by Nikolaj Jež. We are interested in the process behind Lem's formation of neologisms, while trying to determine if the translators have translated the specified words with the same processes or not. In the theoretical part we show the similarities and differences of the word formation theory in Slovenian, Czech and Polish, and we determine the term neologism. We examine the translation process itself and we shine light on Slovenian, Polish and Czech proper names classification. In the practical part we deal with analysing of chosen neologisms in all three languages. In the analysis we specify examples of neologisms from the original (Polish) text and add their counterparts from both translations. Where possible, we explain the origin of the words, decide if the translated words are neologisms and if the translation matches, partly matches or does not match with the original.
