The objective of this thesis is to determine appropriate method for weld quality examination. Investigation was done on copper alloy CuCrSiTi electrical contact pins, which were joined using laser beam welding. When choosing weld examination method, its simplicity, short execution time and reliability is important. To experimentally determine weld quality, we used different weld testing methods, suitable for implementation in production process. Visual examination was performed using digital visual camera immediately after welding operation on production line. Welding joint was visually inspected again using digital microscope and special software on personal computer. When samples were visually examined with both methods, wire pull test was done. With this destructive test, pulling force was measured. The last experimental method was metallographic examination and microhardness measurement along the section of welding joint. The results showed that when using digital microscope, reliability of visual examination is improved in comparison to digital visual camera. However, investigation results showed that wire pull test is not appropriate for this application, because visual appearance of welding joint has no influence on measured pulling force.
