Naslov:Designing of Origami collection with the inspiration in Punk Subculture
Izvleček:
The purpose of this master's thesis was to create a collection of clothing that aesthetically combines two completely different inspirations, punk subculture and Japanese paper folding technique, origami. In order to obtain the information necessary, various written and electronic resources were used. This master's thesis includes a theoretical part which provides an overview of the historical development of both subjects, which is necessary for understanding their role and development in the fashion world. Also presented are some of the most important designers and artists who worked with both subjects. After the theoretical section, there followes the experimental part, which describes my conceptual start of the design as well as the process leading up to the end result; the collection itself. It includes inspiration, technical drawings, fashion sketches and furthermore the photographs of the final collection. Textile origami elements were made using the pleating technique, the procedure of which is also described. Textile patterns and embodied patches, handmade by myself and used in the collection are also presented. The collection is intended for all women who are not afraid to express their opinions and wish to stand out, in their own way, from the mayority. In the experimental part of the master's thesis, the collection is presented more technically with technical drawings from front and back, and with additional short descriptions and fashion sketches. The objective of the thesis was to display that it is possible to combine two completely different cultures and techniques to form something innovative, beautiful and functional. The result of the master's thesis is five garment designs that aesthetically combine elements of a punk subculture and origami technique.
