The diploma thesis describes the most common ways of desalination of seawater. The processes used are distillation and reverse osmosis.
The thesis explains the process of reverse osmosis and its advantages and disadvantages. It describes how osmosis and reverse osmosis works, and displays the parameter calculations for normal operation of the process.
The conclusion of the diploma presents the calculations of parameters for the process using four lines of membrane elements with 1008 membranes, which can provide water for example for Slovenian city of Koper with 25.000 inhabitants.
