In the paper we examined the concept of sustainable mobility in Bohinj area. A review of the literature and transport strategies has revealed that the Bohinj Municipality has been striving for sustainable mobility for many years, as evidenced by a number of documents predicting the measures in this area. These measures are presented below and evaluated numerically. We conducted a survey among the local population, which showed that the residents were not satisfied with the traffic situation in Bohinj and wanted more sustainable mobility measures from the municipality. With this in mind, we interviewed some of the prominent decision makers in municipality of Bohinj, major tourism service providers and selected representatives of civil society. We asked them about Bohinj's traffic problems and possible solutions. Based on the research, we found that the Bohinj Municipality is dealing with traffic and transport issues in a sustainable way, with regard to the environment and the local population. However, the Municipality is facing major challenges, especially due to the steady increase in the number of visitors in recent years.
