Cognition is a process of perceiving, learning, recollecting, and later use of knowledge. Cognition is present at all living beings which use cognitive processes to interact with its environment. Cognitive ability of an animal is determined by putting an animal into controlled environment. Inside this environment an animal is set in front of challenges which result into positive or negative stimulation depending on its success. In this dissertation we inspect three bird species, pigeons, parrots and crows. Homing pigeons are taught to orientate in its environment in order to find a pigeon house. The distance pigeons have to fly is increased over time. Parrots have the ability to learn human like speech and successional behavior (imitating funfair ride). Meanwhile crows can solve intricate puzzles, some even include making a special tool for solving such a puzzle. As a result, the studied bird species are used by humans for various purposes. Homing pigeons are used for competitions in pigeon mail, parrots are found in amusement parks and crows are mostly used as a teaching subjetc.
