The purpose of the masters thesis was to determine the understanding of colour appearance among students of the elective course of Fine Arts 2. In order to present such a wide topic the most effective, in a theoretical part i create a didactic tool - a poster, with list of systematically order different types of colour appearance. Colours appear in very different shapes, dependent on materials and the environment in which they are located. In the empirical part, I first research how much about the differance colour appearance students already know. During the class, trough the different visual materials with various types of colour mode, by feeling different textures on different materials and with exploring the effect of different kind of colour lights, students learn more about colour modes. In the end, the students created art works, that were analyzed and gave us findings about research that practice of using the didatctical tool was meaningful. The results of the research show us that progress in understanding of colour appearance among students has been made.
