The aim of the diploma thesis was to create realistic 3D simulation of physical states of the water and its transitions.
We started with ideas and drawing the easy concept for it, with experiments of melting ice cubes and boiling the water to see how it would act. Then we created a short script, where we determined the locations and view direction of the cameras. Later that made it easier for us to create the real animations.
For creating the simulations we used the open source program Blender. We first created easy kitchen with a stove and a pot, where the whole animation was happening. Then we started creating our ice cube, continued with its melting, then we animated boiling of the water so we got the steam. After the simulation of the steam we animated its condensation on a surface, by showing how the drops are falling back into the pot where the water froze again. We analized the problems, while we were creating the videos.
The final product was a video, which we checked for mistakes. We figured we could make it more reallistic, if we were very focused on the details, but for a start it looked pretty good.
