This diploma thesis tries to analyse four plays by Dušan Jovanović using the narratological analysis. Each of them was written in a different period, and addresses different themes and motifs. This difference will contribute to a better analysis and comparison of the plays. In Sodobne teorije pripovedi, Alenka Koron has already indicated the narratological analysis of some of Jovanović's works. I, myself, want to conclude if such an analysis is even possible and, if it is, how it contributes to the interpretation of plays. Simultaneously, I am interested in knowing if the narrative characterises the characters in any way and if they develop through the play or not. At the end I can assume that nararratological analysis is possible, but it is not possible at any drama in the same way.
