In the thesis I discuss short stories of Polish modernist Witold Gombrowicz. I base my interpretative positions upon writer's attitude towards parody and Form, because these concepts are key to understanding his work. On the basis of these positions I then write about stories A Premeditated Crime and The Banquet, which in my opinion are the best works among his short stories. In the interpretation I try to show, how in both works Gombrowicz cleverly interweaves parody with specific understanding of the concept of Form, which provides his writing with a lasting artistic value.
