The diploma thesis presents a multifunctional packaging of the popcorn. The purpose was to create packaging from an ecological point of view, which is not discarded after use, but can be created into a new product. Presented is also secondary packaging, which shows the number of options of packing multifunctional packaging of the popcorn, thus facilitating the transport of the product from packer to sales outlets.
In the theoretical part, the general division and materials of the packaging are described first and its division according to the purpose. Each packaging has its own tasks and functions for the product, which are also described in the diploma thesis. Because we designed multifunctional packaging of the popcorn also with an ecological purpose, the chapter eco-design of packaging has been added to the thesis. The selected packaging has a food product, which includes a description of food labelling rules, followed by a chapter on the microwave oven packaging, its requirements, as the packed popcorn is intended for preparation in the latter. By packing foods, we are confronted with different materials; therefore special care must be taken in consideration by choosing the material that comes in contact with the food. On the basis of our packaging, we designed its outer or carrier packaging and because of that, we find only a basic description of materials in contact with foodstuffs. Important by packaging design is also the printing, for which we selected digital printing. Packaging design was made in EngWiev Package and Display Designer and its design was designed in Adobe Illustrator and also in Adobe Photoshop. The experimental part gives an overview of the production of packaging of the popcorn, its design and the selection of the final presentation of multifunctional packaging for popcorn. The selected digital printing technique is also described in diploma thesis. The entire graphic image of the product and its secondary packaging, which is intended for transport and display is included and its distribution plan, as well as the calculated waste.
The final product presents us a multifunctional packaging of the popcorn, from which we can produce a windmill after its use.
