The master's thesis describes innovation in local communities. Local communities differ not only in terms of size, population, geographical location (constraints and advantages), but also differ from the approaches they are dedicating to the acquiring of new inhabitants, investors and tourists. In my master's thesis, I compared six local communities in the innovative approaches used by them (or not), studied the advantages and disadvantages of local communities to make them more attractive to new residents, investors and tourists. Slovenia has a large number of local communities. However, the development of local communities is mainly conditioned by the basic location factors, which I examined in more detail in my thesis. I live in the local community of Radeče, therefore, on the basis of completed surveys, visits to municipalities and data review, I have prepared some of the evidence that I see as potential for the local community of Radeče in the future. Each of local communities should, in its development, take advantage of the specifics that they show as different from other local communities and should specialize in activities that are less likely and possible in other local communities.
