Precarious work nowadays seems like a big problem. It`s a working activity, that is temporary and in many ways very different than jobs that offer regular employment. »Notion« precarious work by itself is very wide, has a lot of explanations but at the end we come to conclusion that this type of work, especially for the young adults, brings bad social security, bad decency of life, bad options for promotion, it is also bad for planning a future, but mostly brings no advantages of the regular employment jobs.
In my diploma work there are presented various theories about precarious work. There are presented the roles and the meanings of precarious work in Slovenia and the comparison of Slovenia with the foreign countries. My work in this diploma assigment is to present precarious work and its meaning for Slovenia. I will be trying to figure it out, what share of population in Slovenia is working as precarious workers and how it is effecting their lives.
With a quantitative method I came to conclusion that in Slovenia there are more people who work as a precarious workers compared to those who work as a regularly employed workers. The majority of precarious workers are younger people, young adults not satisfied with their jobs and not doing a job that they were aducating themselves for. Most of precarious workers have already looked and tried to find a job where they could be regularly employed, but unfortunatelly with no success. These workers have most problems by planning a family, finding a place to stay and live, they also have problems with social security.
