The final assignment presents resistance spot welding as a mature and advanced way of joining materials. Basic physical principals of resistance welding and the characteristics of used equipment are described. Electrodes, their shapes and functions, welding material requirements, technical welding parameters, welding technology and different ways of welding are described more specifically. The emphasis is also on defects, which may occur in this technological process and how to get rid of those defects. The credentials about the electrode material choice and welding parameters for welding different materials are presented. An innovative device for resistance spot welding, which eliminates many difficulties at welding modern materials is also presented.
