This thesis describes the upgrade of the pre-existing event driven timing system. The upgrade includes the possibility of the bidirectional transfer of user data over a low latency network. All of the communication can take place exclusively in programmable hardware – FPGAs. The intended usage is a fast reconfiguration of devices to the new operating point in real time in a big distributed system. The main target is a fast reconfiguration of the energy of linear particle accelerators, which would enable adaptive scanning for proton therapy.
