Abstract
Delo opisuje nadgradnjo obstoječega dogodkovno gnanega časovnega sistema. Nadgradnja vključuje možnost dvosmernega prenosa uporabniških podatkov po omrežju z nizkimi zakasnitvami. Celotna komunikacija lahko poteka izključno na programirljivi strojni opremi – FPGA-jih. Ciljna uporaba je hitra ponastavitev naprav na novo delovno točko v realnem času v velikih distribuiranih sistemih. Predvsem je mišljena hitra ponastavitev linearnih pospeševalnikov delcev na drugačno energijo, kar bi omogočilo adaptivno skeniranje pri protonski terapiji.

Title:Low latency data transfer in event driven timig system
Abstract:
This thesis describes the upgrade of the pre-existing event driven timing system. The upgrade includes the possibility of the bidirectional transfer of user data over a low latency network. All of the communication can take place exclusively in programmable hardware – FPGAs. The intended usage is a fast reconfiguration of devices to the new operating point in real time in a big distributed system. The main target is a fast reconfiguration of the energy of linear particle accelerators, which would enable adaptive scanning for proton therapy.
