Through the analysis of ten chosen works - Fran Zbašnik: Vas Kôt, Fran Jaklič: Iz našega kota, Fran Detela: Novo življenje, Fran Saleški Finžgar: Boji, France Bevk: Bridka ljubezen, Ivan Matičič: Moč zemlje, Ivan Albreht: Mora, Miško Kranjec: Težaki, Jan Plestenjak: Lovrač in Andrej Budal: Na konju - it was discovered that in the Slovenian rural story the most important spatial settings in the category of location are: the house, the table, the door, the room and the window; in the category of leaving a location: the house, the table, the cart and the bed; and in the category of different namings: "to ..." (someone/something), "behind ..." (someone/something), "at/next to/with ..." (someone/something) and "in front of ..." (someone something). The category of location is divided into four subcategories. The most important locations in the subcategory building are: the house, the barn, the tavern and the village inn; in the subcategory rooms in a building: the room, the vestibule, izba (the room) and the kitchen; in the subcategory part of a room/exterior: the table, the door, the window and the doorstep; and in the subcategory outside: the village, the courtyard, the cart, the path and the road. In addition to these locations, other descriptions are also of significance mainly where locations are expressed, most often among which are the descriptions of the surroundings. Furthermore, the analysis showed that the events in the rural story are evenly distributed between the internal and external locations. It has been showed that the connectedness between the main literary characters is more diverse and depends on the story in each individual work.
