Frane Milčinski wrote first Slovenian original children radio play in 1949. The play follows specifics of vocal medium and also works successfully as a drama play. Professional theatres put it on stage nine times (LGL: 1955, 1985, 2001 in 2008; SSG Trst 1987; SNG 1994; LGM 1998; Lutkovno gledališče za otroke in mlade Ljubljana 2000; Miniteater 2012) as a puppet play and theatre performance, each time with unique view comparing to the dramatic text. Lastly, the fairy tale came alive as a picture book, firstly in 1992 at Mladinska knjiga with illustrations by Mojca Cerjak and secondly in two versions (whole story and short, adapted version) in 2004 at Založba Sanje, the illustrator was Gorazd Vahen. Picture books show the proportion of verbal (text) to visual (illustrations). The massage this story is telling is, that good can overcome the evil is showed very well and was transferred to the other media. Two active theatre plays, good library circulation and inclusion into educational system shows, that tis work is universal and allows new actualisations in the future.
