Ensuring everybody’s safety and their health and well-being are the key components to achieving the company’s goals, growth and recognition. The purpose was to find out to which degree the employees at ARSO are up to date with the issue of safety and health within the working environment, to study the areas of safety and health and to explore which factors have the biggest influence on them. The organization is obligated to ensure a safe and healthy work procedure where the employees can feel safe, focus on the given assignment and achieve the company’s goals. Ensuring a healthy and safe environment for the employees contributes to the overall quality of their life which leads to complacency, motivation and the will to face obstacles that occur at work and in their personal life. A survey on safety and health of the employees at ARSO was conducted for this thesis. The results have shown that safety and health are of paramount importance for a majority of the employees at ARSO. The participants believe that the problem lies in the presence of disruptive elements, for example stress or psychological violence due to work overload, which can lead to depression, addiction, visual impairment, spine/back problems,… The solution lies in health promotion, i.e. striving for a healthy life style (healthy food, physical activity, controlling stress). Participants in the survey feel safe at work, they help each other and believe that the entire agency, both the employees as well as management, contribute a lot to ensure health and safety in their working environment. Although the organization is obligated to provide a safe and healthy working environment, the employees could still actively cooperate, make suggestions to arrange the working environment and working processes and thus further improve their working conditions.
