The primary idea for my thesis was the printing of OLEDs (organic light-emitting diodes) using Fujifilm Dimatix-DMP-2800 printer. The process would be too complex and was simplified to print the base layer of an OLED with an conductive transparent IZO (indium-zinc oxide) ink and to measure its optical and electrical characteristics.
In the first part of the thesis I compare the different types of printers that have the ability to print functional layers, which serve as the basis for printed electronics.
The experimental part of the thesis consists of a description of the preparations needed before printing, the usage of the Diamatix-DMP-2800 Series printer, the printing procedure, how to dry and bake IZO ink, and the description of the process of measuring optical characteristics with the Lambda 950 spectrophotometer for the entire visible light spectrum, followed by graphically presented results.
