The purpose of this thesis was to research the parachute industry and methods for packaging skydiving products as well as design a packaging that protects the product sufficiently and also helps display the product attractively in a store. An important aspect was also integrating elements into the packaging that are reminiscent of a harness container system.
The theoretical part introduces some general information about the packaging and material being used. This is followed by some information concerning the planning and designing of the packaging as well as an introduction of the company, its selection of products, and the methods of packaging that have been used up to now.
Together we conducted a short research on cardboard packaging that was similar in size and characteristics to what we wanted. We also conducted a research of the components that we wanted to use and analysed the combining of two types of packaging.
The thesis discusses the whole process, from choosing the right materials to designing and producing the final product as well as presenting its layout and elements.
The conclusion presents all packaging elements that make it unique along with the final product. The main reason for producing this packaging was the fact that there was no carboard packaging in the parachute industry which would be adequate for transport and sale, particularly one that combines an attractive appearance with a harness and container system.
