The purpose of the master’s thesis was to compose a program of sports exercises of preschool children in a daycare with poor material conditions. We presented a topical preparation with various topical sets which were spread in time from October to May. We also composed twenty-six teaching preparations, which were equipped with exactly as many worksheets which include pictorial illustrations of the contents in the main part of the exercise unit. The worksheets are intended for the practical use as assistance during the training session.
In order to illuminate the discussed topic, we also performed a short research, where we wished to discover the significance and frequency of usage of the improvised sporting accessories in practice by means of an online questionnaire (1Ka). Links to the online questionnaire were sent to various daycare units in Slovenia by e-mail. The headmistresses of the daycare units forwarded them to their employees, i.e. daycare teachers. The online questionnaire was filled in by 29 professional workers. We processed the results by means of the Microsoft Office Excel 2007 program.
We discovered that half of the daycare units have poor spatial conditions for the performance of the sports exercises. Most of the participants in the survey use improvised accessories. Therefore, we can conclude that the participating daycare units do not have a diverse range of standardized sports accessories at their disposal. Daycare teachers also include children in making the improvised accessories, for they believe that the production strengthens their creativity. They use the produced accessories during organized and during free exercises. The most commonly used materials for the production of improvised accessories are plastic bottles, balloons, carton boxes, scarves, carton tubes and ropes. The ideas for the production are mostly found on the internet.
