The thesis highlights an alternative view at the energy turnaround in Europe for which it uses the real production data, the real prices and the real data about the electricity consumption in Germany. The European Union wishes to discontinue the production of electricity from fossil fuels and to replace them with the renewable energy power plants. The main reason for the change is the reduction of the environmentally harmful emissions of solid particles into the air. The real numbers are taken from a lecture by a renowned German economist Hans-Werner Sinn. The prices of electrical energy are mentioned and compared and solar and wind power plants are described in detail as well as the possible problems and solutions that might be posed by the construction of the power plants. A very important factor in the production of energy from wind and solar power plants is electric energy storage. The latter ensures that the excess electricity produced is stored for the time when there is practically no production of energy and without them it would not be worth building these power plants. Nevertheless, in the described turnaround fossil fuels remain an important factor and there would not be so much energy produced without them.
