Our master thesis presents the use of BIM approach for managing the information on durability of elements. With this information we satisfy demands of the investor's desired level of durability, we enable designers an ideal choice of items and we enable building administrators to use BIM system to view state of elements of building.
Parameters of durability help us to rationalize spending in public procurement and optimize public building management. They allow time and cost planning of capital expenditures in life cycle of the building.
In our study we investigate literature and standards, and we identify which are key parameters for determining durability and which may reasonably be incorporated in the design of the renovation of buildings with BIM. Use show an example of renovation project of existing multi-family house with BIM tools.
