Prevajalnik logičnih nivojev

Pri testiranju detektorjev osnovnih delcev se uporabljajo naprave, ki komunicirajo prek različnih logičnih nivojev. Če želimo med seboj povezati napravi, ki komunicirata z različnima logičnima nivojema, je treba med njiju vključiti še prevajalnik. V sklopu te magistrske naloge je bila na Inštitutu Jožef Štefan, na odseku za eksperimentalno fiziko osnovnih delcev, načrtovana in izdelana univerzalna naprava, ki zmore prevajati med TTL, ECL, NIM in LVDS logičnimi družinami. Univerzalnost je dosežena z uporabo vmesnega nivoja in programirljivega logičnega vezja. Naprava je bila izdelana po specifikacijah standarda NIM.

Abstract

When testing particle detectors, devices that use different logic levels are used. If we want to connect two devices that communicate on different logic levels, a translator has to be added between them. For this master thesis, a universal device that is able to translate between TTL, ECL, NIM and LVDS logic families has been designed and constructed at the Department of Experimental Particle Physics of Josef Stefan Institute. Universality is achieved by usage of intermediate level and programmable logic circuit. The Device was constructed according to NIM standard specifications.
