The main object of the present final thesis was to examine how often preschool educators incorporate poems and fairy tales by Janez Bitenc into music activities and how are they understood. Moreover, the work examines if also other modern authors of children poems and fairy tales are incorporated.
In the theoretical part the life and work of Janez Bitenc are presented. Moreover, ways on how to bring children closer to music and appropriate poetry and on how to present them to children are investigated.
Due to the fact that more and more popular songs appear in preschool, the thesis describes ways on how to preserve songs that are age appropriate and prevent the singing of popular songs and other types of songs which are not appropriate for preschool children.
The second part of the theoretical part focuses on music fairy tale. The importance of a fairy tale for a child from the methodological point of view is described. Furthermore, musical fairy tales by Janez Bitenc and his collections of poems are listed.
In the empirical part of the thesis the musical fairy tale Luna gre na pot is presented incorporating poems by Janez Bitenc, the lyrics of which relate to the musical fairy tale.
Furthermore, findings of the research, in which the frequency of incorporating poems and musical fairy tales by Janez Bitenc was analysed, are presented. The research was carried out using a survey questionnaire for preschool educators and shows that preschool educators besides traditional songs and poems by the above mentioned author also incorporate poems by more recent authors.
