In this thesis I investigated the long-term development of the distribution network and the
transformation in the electricity area Trbovlje. The study is based on the long-term prognosis
for the load area of Elektro Ljubljana d.d., DE Trbovlje and takes into account the facts that
follow in the near future. These facts are planned operating voltage transition from 35 kV and
10 kV on a single 20 kV voltage level and the abolition of primary power for distribution
transformer substation 35/10 kV Trbovlje from the distribution transformer substation
110/35 kV TET, which is removed because of the need to have additional space close to
Thermal power plant Trbovlje.
In the study of different variants of powering electricity area Trbovlje I have relied on the
criteria for planning the distribution network set by EIMV. These criteria should be
considered, since they provide the quality and continuity of supply. The most important are
criteria for voltage drops and allowable load of network elements.
For the calculation and analysis of the different variants of powering electricity area Trbovlje
I used a software package Gredos, which is widely used in electricity distribution companies.
The results showed that a variant of a power supply with distribution substation 20 kV
Trbovlje does not meet the criteria for planning the distribution network. Already in the year
2020 will be needed to build a distribution transformer substation 110/20 kV Vodenska with
one transformer. This variant meets the criteria for planning the distribution network until the
year 2035. Later it will be necessary to install an additional transformer and looping
distribution transformer substation 110/20 kV Vodenska at 110 kV. This applies to the
operation of the Cement factory Trbovlje with full power, that is 10 MVA. In operation of
Cement factory Trbovlje with the power of 500 kVA, which is seen as the most likely option,
the results showed that it is possible to power electricity area Trbovlje with a variant of the
distribution substation 20 kV Trbovlje until the year 2040.
