Internet of Things and Connected Devices bring many advantages to dierent
areas, for instance health and well-being. Children's body weight, especially of
infants, is one of the most important parameters that we need to monitor fre-
quently during their growth. With this goal in mind, a connected electronic scale
in the form of feeding chair for children has been developed. The scale enables
weight measurements of a child and monitors the child's activity during measure-
ments to provide more accurate readings. Due to the advantages of Connected
Devices and Internet of Things, the scale uses Bluetooth LE to connect to mobile
terminals. Bluetooth LE is one of the most energy ecient wireless technolo-
gies and also the most suitable for use in connected electronic scales due to the
standardized protocol stack. Connectivity enables automatic and periodic weight
measurements, data visualizations and trends, automatic BMI index calculation
etc. In addition to that, it enables data sharing, statistics and data analysis of a
broader population of children.
