Abstract
Telo in čuti posamezniku predstavljajo središče, iz katerega izhaja v načinu bivanja, zaznavanja, spoznavanja in ustvarjalnega izražanja. Primarni sredstvi komunikacije med možgani in preostalim telesom sta gib in dotik. V magistrskem delu raziskujem vlogo, pomen in načine vključevanja različnih senzornih sistemov in obenem celotnega telesa v učni proces likovne umetnosti. Priložnost za razvoj vzgojno-izobraževalne prakse vidim v boljšem razumevanju mehanizmov delovanja možganov zlasti v korelaciji z organi percepcije in z vidika utelešene kognicije. Aktivna participacija in osredotočeno zaznavanje z različnimi čuti učencem omogoča celovitejšo izkušnjo ter s tem psihomotorični, emocionalni, socialni in kognitivni razvoj.

Title:The role of body and multisensory integration in art education
Abstract:
Body and senses represent the individual's central point and this is where person's way of being, perception, cognition and creative expression arise from. The movement and the touch are primary communication means between the brain and the rest of the body. This master's thesis focuses on the role, significance and the ways of integration of the various sensory systems and also entire body into the visual arts learning process. I see the opportunity for educational practice development in better understanding of the brain functioning mechanisms, especially in the correlation with the perception organs and in terms of embodied cognition. Neuroscientific and other research, and contemporary sense focused visual arts open the doors for understanding and awareness of own senses and the implementation possibilities in the area of education. Numerous possibilities of different senses and the entire body integration reflect in experiencing works of art as well as in the process of artistic expression. Actively participating and using different senses in focused perceiving ensure acquiring more comprehensive experience and thereby psychometrics, emotional, social and cognitive development of pupils. The teacher who emphasises the experiences and multi-sensual adventures as a source of learning and a base of an abstract thinking will be able to aid in the improvement of motivation, attention, memory, creativity, mental flexibility and thereby improvement of executive functions skills.
