The following thesis presents research and development of a portable multi-functional charging device, which can charge multiple mobile devices over the Qi wireless charging connection and USB connectors.
The main aim of the project was to make a reliable device, which has greater battery capacity and shorter charging time than comparable products available on the market. The device has an adjustable usable voltage range of the internal battery, which affects battery life span and can be adjusted accordingly to user needs.
In the introduction is a short description of everyday problems, which arise from an increased number of mobile devices we commonly use. For these the thesis presents a solution. Main requirements and basic realization are also described. The second chapter is dedicated to the device design in Altium Designer and detailed explanation of each circuit part is given. The third chapter explains basic operation of Lithium based batteries and main advantages and disadvantages of Li-Ion and LiPo batteries. In the last part of the thesis, measurement results of different running modes are shown in tables and charts. The thesis ends with a conclusion summarizing the presented work.
