This thesis describes automation of the assembly procedures for producing automotive Bowden cables for the Volkswagen group in the company TBP d.d. The aim of the automation is to increase the capacity of Bowden production.
On the basis of the specified functional and technical requirements of the customer for making the automated machine, the proceedures and components for automated Bowden-cable assembly were established. This was followed by an electrical plan and the implementation of the software for the programmable logic controller including the optimization of the machine. Automation has been made in accordance with specific safety standards for machine construction. Due to the need for modularity and for ensuring the effectiveness, the Beckhoff manufacturer was chosen.
