In this diploma thesis I describe the various dangers, that lurk on individuals on the web, and mesaures that individuals can use to avoid these threats. The diploma thesis is divided into several sections, which include device protection, data and identity protection, health protection and enviromental protection. Due to increasing emergence of new viruses, online scams and conmen, it is important that each individual learns, how to protect himself from these threats. It is also important that teachers learn about these threats and protection against these threats, so they can pass this knowledge onto their students, as in today's era using a computer is an everyday thing.
In the second part of this diploma thesis I describe my contribution to the project of creating an open online course named MOOC – Safe internet use and device use.
