The thesis presents the GIG (Music School book borrowing) application, which is used by librarians in elementary and music schools for inventory and borrowing of library and non-library material. The aim of this work is to determine whether users are satisfied with the GIG application and functionalities it provides, and to identify possible application improvements. The user interface of the GIG application was evaluated using expert study and online surveys. The results have shown that users with only the formal music education have substantial problems with the use of application. Therefore it is necessary to adopt a set of rules for data entry in the "Title", "Author", "Keywords" fields, which would consequently prevent the record duplication and facilitate the inventory of material. Also, the users have expressed a wish for an additional data field (number of parts) and in-application help system.
