The paper represents findings of one part of the research, which explores family factors and their influence on identity formation and development. The research is based on the systemic theory and on findings of Timberlawn study (Lewis and co-workers). A sample of 30 second year university students (19 to 24 years old), from complete families, were interviewed using semi-structured interview, which had been developed especially for this study. Interviews were evaluated with Timberlawn Family Evaluation Scales (Beavers). Dimensions measured were: structure of the family, negotiation, autonomy, family affect and family relatedness to the social environment.
