Yield regulation is the basic tool for forest tending and affecting the futureforest development. Therefore it is professionally demanding and at the same time interesting for the public, at latest when the plans are executed. This article represents particularities of yield regulation for silvicultural systems with exchange of generations in areas, for group of uneven-aged systems and for "free style" silvicultural system (STG). In close-to-nature silviculture the use of mathematical models is helpful, but the basic decisions are in the hands of the forestry expert in the terrain who utilizes the information gained by the control method. Regenerating the forests, economically and ecologically important decisions are taken. They are a resultof optimization of various forest ecosystem and its environment indexes. Most often, economically favorable time for regeneration does not contradict other forest functions. In selective silviculture, the yield regulation depends on forest composition, in group of uneven-aged systems alsoon development phases areas, and in STG, elements of both yield regulationmethods are used.
