In co-operation with a conserver of the Institute for the Protection of the Cultural Heritage of Slovenia, Regional Unit Novo mesto, 9 rural buildings from Bizeljsko region were examined. 4 of them were selected, and the cores from constructions made of oak wood (Quercus sp.) were taken. The wood was processed according to standard dendrochronological procedures, and dated with the Slovenian regional tree-ring chronology of oak. The year of formation of the last annual ring below bark (LZB) was presented, and the year of construction of each object estimated. Cerjakov hram (vineyard cottage), Pavlova vas, LZB 1723, was the oldest, constructed after 1723. The wooden house in Brezovica, LZB 1763, was constructed after 1763. The wine house (vinski hram) in Pisece village, LZB 1783, was most likely built 5-10 years after 1783. Rozmanov mlin (mill) in Zgornja Pohanca village (outer walls, LZB 1886: 1896 engraved: internal platform, LZB 1918) was probably constructed or rebuilt after 1886, and the internal platform was added after 1918. Renovation of the roofs is recommended for all the buildings, otherwise their preservation could be endangered.
