The case study of this thesis was an example of development of a new, more flexible and more efficient web system that replaced the existing one which had been outdated and did no longer meet the new requirements of the organization. With the growth of the organization, the existing system which was available under two domains became insufficient over time.
This led to a decision to develop organization's own web infrastructure in a system that would be more flexible and efficient and would allow for any subsequent potentially more complex solutions in organization's efforts to enhance the quality and availability of information to any relevant stakeholders.
To achieve this objective MODx was selected which allows for all backend components to be configured freely. In addition, the system’s user-friendly nature allows its users to edit dynamic content via frontend. Its added value lies in enabling the system administrators to manage upgrades through the browser.
