The digitalization of the learning process like development of didactic tools is one of the priorities of the University of Ljubljana. The purpose of our diploma thesis was to develop a virtual didactic tool for learning to set the zero-line in a virtual environment and to test the tool with students using a questionnaire. The virtual tool was created with the Unity program and consists of an introduction and three levels of increasing complexity. Users of the tool solved tasks set in a 3D virtual environment. We successfully developed the tool, achieving all the goals we set. From the responses to the questionnaire before (n=17) and after (n=16) the field trip for setting the zero-line, we found that the tool was appropriately demanding (3 of 5-somewhat demanding). We did not confirm statistically significant differences between responses based on previous experience with computer games. However, we confirmed differences based on self-assessed skill in using the tool. From the results of the analysis of the UEQ questionnaire, we can conclude that students were satisfied with its attractiveness and effectiveness of use but were neutral regarding the enjoyment of using the tool. From these results we conclude that the tool is useful as an aid for learning to set zero-lines.
