The process of scheduling healthcare services within the public healthcare system in Slovenia represents a significant challenge for both patients and healthcare institutions. The existing eNaročanje system in most cases provides only approximate appointment dates, which leads to increased administrative workload, lack of transparency, and user dissatisfaction. The aim of this bachelor’s thesis was to develop an information solution that improves the transparency of the scheduling process, enhances the patient user experience, and increases the efficiency of healthcare institutions.
The research was based on an analysis of the existing eNaročanje system, a review of literature in the field of healthcare digitalization, and an examination of the relevant legal framework. In addition, a survey among system users and semi-structured interviews with healthcare employees were conducted. Based on the findings, functional requirements were defined and a working solution of the system was developed.
The results of the research show that the proposed solution improves the transparency of available appointments, enables advanced filtering, verifies the validity of referrals, and allows easy appointment booking, modification, or cancellation. The system also supports the collection of user feedback, contributing to greater transparency and continuous improvement of healthcare service quality.
The developed solution represents a contribution to the digitalization of public healthcare, as it reduces administrative burden, improves work organization, and increases patient satisfaction. The thesis provides a foundation for further development and potential implementation of the solution within the broader healthcare system.
