Parkinson‘s disease is a chronic neurological disorder that significantly affects an individual‘s balance and other motor abilities. Common motor symptoms include tremors, rigidity, bradykinesia, and balance and gait disturbances, while non-motor symptoms include sleep disorders, depression, cognitive impairments, and hallucinations. The main aim of the study was to examine the effects of a four-week kinesiotherapy exercise program on improving balance in a person with Parkinson‘s disease. The program was designed with a focus on exercises to strengthen the muscles of the lower limbs and trunk stabilizers, as well as static and dynamic balance exercises and stretching. To assess the effects of the exercise program, we used tests for evaluating static and dynamic balance, as well as a questionnaire measuring individuals‘ confidence in avoiding falls during various daily activities. The results showed an improvement in both static and dynamic balance, while confidence in performing daily tasks and fear of falling did not change significantly. This may be due to the short duration of the kinesiotherapy intervention, as the person with Parkinson‘s disease participated in the study for only four weeks, limiting the ability to observe long-term effects. The study‘s findings are valuable for individuals with Parkinson‘s disease, kinesiologists and other healthcare professionals seeking to use their expertise to improve the quality of life for those living with the condition.
